Description
Breed:  Labrador Retriever mix
Age:  5 years
Gender:  Neutered Male
Weight:  53 lbs.
Heartworm Status:
ID #:  14266450

Jackson came to the shelter because his owner got pregnant and couldn't take care of him.  He is sweet, bubbly, well-mannered, and LOVES treats.  He is a very motivated learner and knows how to sit and lay down and is learning crawl, play dead, crate, spin, and more.  He seems like he may be housetrained, too.  Jackson likes toys and really enjoys playing with other dogs but he is a pretty mellow guy for the most part.  He would probably be great with kids.

From his handler:  "I am a playful, pretty, and friendly dog.  My weakness are treats, and am just looking for a new family to adopt me since my last one had to give me up, since my owner was pregnant.

I like to play only if you want too, am not annoying, am obidient.  Am a great exercise running buddy.  I know a couple of tricks but I always wnat to learn more.

I can be chilled too, if you wanna take a walk at the park, street or beach, am allway's exited to go, am just a dog looking for a home.

Am very friendly, I get along with kids great, they love my soft, furry coat, I like it when I get brushed & when it's gime for a shower am allways up for it, no trouble w/ me.  I'll stay still and let my owner wash me, ohh but watch out!  As soon as my shower is done I like to shake my body to dry myself, since my coat is water proof I'll dry very easily and quick.

I have a great smell scent and if my owner is calling me I give them my attention.

Am also nice and sweet and I love it when my owner gives me treats for something I do good.

Well there is more things to know abou tme, that's for you to meet me, check me out, and see what you think and like about me!

Am a unique dog, am eagerly wanting to meet my new owner.  Roof!  Jackson"

Adoption Information

Kids-N-K9s dogs may be adopted at any time during the program on a first come, first serve basis but may not go home permanently until graduation night.  We do not have class on the weekends and encourage adopters to take their dogs home during that time, though they must be returned before 3:00pm Monday afternoon for class.

Potential adopters must come to the shelter during regular business hours to complete an adoption application.  Phone adoptions are also available with special approval for long-distance adoptions.

Adoption fees range from $25-$75 and includes spaying/neutering, shots, a microchip, and a heartworm test.  All we ask is that you send your success stories to us to share with your dog's handler!
