We are thrilled to be supporting our non-profit supporting group, the Fans of Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, in their participation in Amplify Austin 2015 – a city-wide giving day that offers a fun, exciting, and incentivized way of giving to causes you care about. Help us continue our work in the community by showing your generosity on March 5-6 during the 24-hours of giving. Set a calendar reminder now that at 6pm on March 2 you have 24-hours to give back where it counts. Forget about a calendar reminder and schedule your donation today. “Set-it and forget it,” and still be apart of this exciting effort for us and with us on March 2-3.

Follow These Step-By-Step Instructions:

1. Go to https://amplifyatx.ilivehereigivehere.org/FansofWCRAS/overview

2. Click “Donate Now” at the top of the page or scroll down and select a specific fundraiser to support and you will be taken to the donation cart.

3. Fill in the donation amount.

4. Check the “Schedule for Amplify Austin Day” box on the donation form. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP! If this is not selected, the donation will run immediately and will not count towards Amplify Austin Day!

5. Complete other questions on the form and click “Add to Cart.”

6. You will be asked to create an account or login. Creating an account allows you to track your donations, print receipts, save payment information and is required for scheduling gifts. You are not required to have an account to simply donate on March 5-6.

7. Proceed to check out and you will receive a confirmation that your donation is scheduled to run on March 3, 2015 as part of Amplify Austin Day.

Amplify Austin Goal: $10,000 for the Fans of WCRAS’ Second Chances Fund

Why: Fans of WCRAS is the nonprofit advocacy group supporting the no-kill efforts of Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. $10,000 funds an entire year of supporting the Second Chances Fund. This fund supports the residents of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Hutto, Leander, and Williamson County who feel like their only choice is to surrender their dog or cat to the shelter. The fund provides alternatives to surrender such as:

keeping animals with their family by aiding in pet deposits

providing safety with a fenced in yard

aiding with expenses for needed medical care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery

presenting affordable and scholarship training classes and private sessions

assisting families with injured animals

sponsoring the cost of boarding for an animal caught in a domestic abuse situation or other major life change

A subset of this fund is Second Chances for Shelter Dogs. This supports extraordinary and “out of the box” ideas to give our shelter dogs a better chance of adoption. These projects have included training classes, Nose Work certification, and Dock Diving classes for Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter dogs.

The Fans of WCRAS’ Second Chances Fund is in direct line with WCRAS’ No-Kill Mission. Every animal we can keep with their family saves a space and saves the life of a stray animal in the shelter. It also provides a Second Chance for shelter dogs in need.

Mission: Fans of Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is an integral part of WCRAS’ lifesaving mission. We currently provide behavioral enrichment programs and training consults, both in the home and at the shelter, for adopted dogs and an assistance program for families who are experiencing financial troubles due to animal related expenses such as pet deposits or medical costs. We focus on creating second chances for families who think their only solution is surrendering a pet to a shelter or simply abandoning them. Plus, as WCRAS’ nonprofit advocacy group, we are always available to help them in times of need.
