The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) is located on approximately five acres on the Inner Loop in Georgetown just to the east of the entrance to the county’s Juvenile Services building. The shelter is a collaborative effort between the county and participating cities of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and Hutto.

 Mission: To provide humane care to the unwanted or abandoned pets and to assist the participating entities in enforcing state law and local ordinances, and to otherwise serve the citizens in a cost effective manner.

Vision: To save every healthy and behaviorally sound companion animal. To save all dogs and cats that are medically treatable and/or can be behaviorally rehabilitated.

  • A driver's license is needed for all Adoptions.
  • Adoptions are non-refundable.
  • Animal Licenses are $10 (per unsterile animal) or $5 (per sterile animal with proof) and require proof of rabies vacination

A real heart throb, Pesky is a beautifully marked black and butterscotch ‘tortie’ whose coat has an unusual plush-like texture.  She’s a two-year old, ten-pound spayed female with a playful disposition.  Pesky has an independent attitude, typical of most ‘torties’, but loves attention and room to roam.

He’s an adorable, energetic one-year old male Shepherd mix.  He calms down easily, is very affectionate, and eager to learn.  Chopper has striking tan and white markings highlighting his healthy, shiny black coat.  He is eligible for the Sister’s Fund making special training time available for his lucky new owners.
